Urns & Lidded Containers

Whether for housing ashes of loved ones or for storing keepsakes, specialty containers have fitted lids that protect their contents. I create round and square vessels in a wide range of sizes and designs.

Each piece is created by cutting wood into carefully measured segments to create a desired pattern. Tools are used to cut from the outside in, revealing the final wood shape while the assembled piece is turning on a lathe. The interior is also cut out and the inside finished as smoothly as the outside. Precision is required to hollow the inside while maintaining uniform thickness and strength in the walls.
